The basic flow
The beginner path is intentionally simple: scan the PC, install Ollama where appropriate, choose a model that fits the machine, pull the model, and test local chat.
- Confirm the PC is a reasonable fit
- Install or detect the local runtime
- Start with a practical model before trying larger ones
Model choice matters
A model that is too large can feel broken even when the runtime is installed correctly. MAIA keeps the setup grounded in hardware fit instead of treating every machine the same.
- Prefer stable first-run results
- Explain speed versus quality tradeoffs
- Reduce trial-and-error setup time
What MAIA does not replace
Ollama and individual models remain third-party tools with their own licenses and documentation. MAIA helps with discovery, setup, and workflow guidance; users should still review third-party terms for business use.
